Are your guided rides officially licensed?

Yes. Our horses have passed the official trail horse examination, and we hold all the licences required to operate.

How many guides come along on a ride?

The Visegride team is made up of two trail guides, Sziszi and Zoli. Both of us join most rides — one at the front of the group and one at the back — to help everything run safely and smoothly.

Can beginners join a ride?

These are trail rides, so we can only take riders who are confident in walk, trot and canter, including in a light seat. We do offer gentler rides at walk, or at walk and trot, but these still require sound basic riding skills. At present, we cannot take complete beginners out on the trail.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes. Our horses vary in size and carrying capacity, but the maximum rider weight is 90 kg. The limit protects our horses’ health and long-term wellbeing, so we ask you to respect it.

Which horse will I ride?

We always match horse and rider ourselves, considering your experience, riding ability, height and weight, as well as each horse’s individual strengths. The right pairing keeps both horse and rider safe and comfortable, so please leave this decision to us.

Can I bring my own horse?

Yes — you are welcome to join us with your own horse by prior arrangement. Please mention this when booking so we can talk through all the details beforehand.

Is protective gear compulsory?

It is not compulsory, but we strongly recommend it for every rider. If you have your own riding helmet or body protector, please bring it with you. We can provide protective equipment on request if you do not have your own.

What should I wear?

Always ride in sturdy, closed-toe footwear and dress for the weather. If you are unsure what to bring, just ask when booking — we will be happy to advise you on what to expect at that time of year.

Can I change before or after the ride?

Yes. There is somewhere to change at our base, both before and after the ride.

Which route will we take?

We like to vary our routes, although we have a few tried-and-tested favourites we return to often. One thing is certain: the Visegrád Hills have something special to offer in every season.

Can I take photos during the ride?

Of course — you are welcome to take photographs and videos along the way. If you would rather focus on the scenery and the experience, Sziszi, our guide, will be happy to capture some memories for you.

Do rides go ahead in bad weather?

Rides do not go ahead in rain, storms or other adverse conditions. If the weather turns, we will simply arrange a new date with you.

What happens if I need to cancel?

• • More than 24 hours before the ride, cancellation is free of charge.
• • Within 24 hours of the ride, 50% of the fee is payable.
• • Cancelling on the day, or not turning up, means the full fee is payable.

How can I pay?

Payment is due on site at the end of the ride. You can pay in cash or by bank transfer.
